On behalf of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine, the ORT is pleased to administer the 2021-2022 OSOTF Graduate Fellowship to support research trainees at UHN. These fellowships are awarded to graduate students, registered with U of T’s Faculty of Medicine, on the basis of financial need and academic excellence who are studying within the neurosciences field at UHN.

SickKids Research Integrity Symposium Series - We have the evidence, but do we know if the data are true?

Science relies on the integrity of the reported findings. In medicine, randomized clinical trials (RCTs) are the cornerstone of the evidence-base based research underlying the profession. It is estimated that about 20% of the randomized clinical trials are fabricated. Research misconduct may result in a waste of financial and human resources and, more importantly, poses an immediate risk to human health. Estimating the volume of fabricated RCTs in their area of research, women’s health, Dr. Mol will discuss methods to detect fraud and the governance needed to reduce this problem.
