ORT Conference Registration Award
Apply by July 15th for conferences between September and December 2021

The ORT is pleased to offer a limited number of conference registration awards to enable graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to participate in national and international conferences. This is your chance to share your research through oral and/or poster presentations! Apply for up to $500 to cover the cost of conference registration.

Summer Student Social

UHN Research summer students are invited to a weekly social to network with other summer students. This week we will be playing games and socializing in an online video-game-like environment, Gather.Town.

UHN Summer Seminar Series for High School Students

UHN is hosting a UHN Summer Seminar Series for high school students (grades 9-12) from underrepresented and racialized backgrounds. The Summer Seminar Series will take place July 27th - 29th from 10 am-1 pm over Zoom. Participants will have the opportunity to meet scientists and healthcare professionals, learn about research happening at UHN, engage in interactive activities and win prizes!

UHN Biospecimen Services and the International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER) have partnered once again to provide a two-day virtual symposium for the international biobanking community. The symposium will include keynote presentations, invited speakers, an ISBER workshop, networking opportunities, abstract presentations and an exhibit hall.

Science Communication Workshop for Undergrad Summer Students

Undergrad Summer Research Students in the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy are invited to a Science Communication workshop. The Alda Center’s Creating Connections program is a two-hour live, online workshop designed to help scientists and researchers learn to engage and inspire diverse audiences through effective communication, with a particular focus on virtual interactions.

2021 Eye on the Cure

Compete in a LIVE event for awards to support your research. 
Fighting Blindness Canada is launching a new event, Eye on the Cure, to raise funds and awareness for vision research. If you’re an early career researcher who is passionate about research and communicating vision science, we want you to apply! 

Three finalists will be chosen to compete head-to-head for the chance to win up to $80,000 to support their research.

Eligibility:
Vision researchers and:
  • A PhD student or Postdoctoral fellow or/
  • Enrolled in a clinical doctoral degree (OD, MD), residency or fellowship program or/
  • An early-stage investigator, having held an academic position for less than 3 years
Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship
Apply by August 30th at 5:00 PM

The Vanier CGS program aims to attract and retain world-class doctoral students by supporting students who demonstrate both leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health. The Vanier CGS program strongly encourages candidates to pursue their studies beyond the university that granted their previous degree(s).

Value/Duration: $50,000 per year for three years
Level of Study: To support PhD, or combined MA/PhD, or MD/PhD
