Congratulations to 2021 ORT Conference Grant awardee, Cornelia Redel! Cornelia is a graduate student in Dr. Linda Penn's lab at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre investigating how the stability of the oncogene MYC is controlled in cancer cells and how we can exploit these mechanisms for cancer therapy. She presented her research at the 64th Canadian Society for Molecular Biosciences (CSMB) conference and won a poster prize. Congratulations, Cornelia!

Join the Office of Research Trainees for an outdoor social in Queen's Park! Come meet other trainees, play some games, and enjoy some Halloween treats! Trainees are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on and are welcome to bring outdoor activities (frisbee, soccer ball, game, etc). This is a free event and all trainees are welcome!

OSOTF/U of T/Vision Science Research Program

A $17.25 million endowment from the OSOTF/U of T/Vision Science Research Program-Toronto Western Hospital provides support for a number of graduate fellowships each year. The Vision Science Research Program provides support for MSc and PhD trainees from across the University of Toronto studying novel questions in vision science. Interested applicants must demonstrate financial need.

2022 John Charles Polanyi Prize
Apply by November 15 

 

To honour the achievement of John Charles Polanyi, recipient of the 1986 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, the Ontario Government established a fund to award John Charles Polanyi Prizes annually to up to five outstanding researchers or scholars who are in the early stages of their careers and at Ontario universities. The prizes, each of which is valued at $20,000, will be conferred in the fall of 2022. They are available in the areas of Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, and Economic Science, broadly defined. Applicants are to submit their application to their graduate unit or their supervisor’s affiliated graduate unit by November 15.
