Congratulations to ORT Conference Award recipient, Yulin Mo! Yulin is a graduate student in Dr. Gang Zheng's lab at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. He presented his research on developing porphyrin-lipid based nanoparticles for delivering nucleic acids into cancer targets at the 11th International Conference on Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines. Congratulations, Yulin!

UHN Patient Education is offering a free health talk session about anxiety, its causes, tips for managing it, how to support an affected loved one, and resources and programs at UHN and in the community. Join TeamUHN presenters Chris Stigas, UHN Patient Partner, Aideen Carroll, Advanced Practice Nurse Educator, Mental Health, and Linda Liu, Clinical Nurse Specialist for this talk. This event is open to all patients, families, staff, and community members.

SGS: Strategies for Clarifying and Organizing Your Ideas Before You Write

The School of Graduate Studies at the University of Toronto is offering a workshop on how to clarify the content and structure of your proposal before you begin to write. Dr. Jane Freeman will lead participants through strategies for organizing their ideas to help effectively structure their writing in the pre-and mid-writing stages of proposals.

Translational Neurophysiology & Brain Stimulation (TNBS) Trainee Workshop: Digital Signal Processing

TNBS will be hosting a workshop with Dr. Maximilian Scherer on the evaluation of electrophysiological signals. The workshop introduces and summarizes technical aspects from computer-based analyses of electrophysiological signals and focuses on digital signal processing, statistics, machine learning, and programming. All trainees are welcome at this free, virtual event!

S2BN Seasonal Kick-off Networking Event

Innovation Cup 2022 Summer Camp

Merck KGaA invites applications from post-graduate students with an interest in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry for their Innovation Cup. Successful applicants get a chance to network with students from around the world, work in teams to develop ideas for unmet medical needs, and build a business case with support from experienced professionals. The Innovation Cup offers shared prizes of â‚¬20,000 for the winning team and €5,000 for the runner-up.

Mitacs Canadian Science Policy Fellowship

The Mitacs Canadian Science Policy Fellowship is open to applications. This fellowship places PhD holders in government host offices for a 12-month immersion into the policy-making process. Fellows apply their academic training, critical thinking, and analytical skills to support evidence-informed decision-making that addresses policy challenges within participating federal host offices.

The Parkinson Canada's Basic Research Fellowship program encourages promising young scientists to enter the field of Parkinson's research and to invest in research training that offers promise for future work in the area of Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson Canada intends to provide awards in the range of $40,000 - $50,000 per year over a two-year term.

Parkinson Canada's Graduate Student Award program invites applications from full-time PhD students committed to conducting research in areas relevant to the cure, cause, prevention, improved treatment and/or understanding of Parkinson’s disease and related disorders. The Kidney Foundation KRESCENT Program: Postdoctoral Fellowships

The KRESCENT program aims to enhance kidney research training by increasing the numbers of highly skilled scientists, across multiple disciplines, focused on the prevention of end-stage renal disease and improving the health of Canadians with kidney disease. KRESCENT post-doctoral fellowships are intended for applicants with a PhD or MD to continue their investigations in the field of kidney research.

The Kidney Foundation: Allied Health Kidney Doctoral Fellowships

The Kidney Foundation offers a limited number of fellowships that fund full-time academic study and preparation for research at the doctoral level. The objective of this program is to promote and enhance the development of allied health investigators in Canada in the field of nephrology and/or organ donation. Fellowships are awarded for amounts up to $31,000/year and can be held in Canada or abroad.
