Food Vouchers for Research Staff
Refer to the schedule for pickup dates

UHN is launching another round of the UHN-wide staff meal voucher program whereby all staff who are working on site for at least one full day per week are eligible to receive two vouchers for two free meals ($15 value each) at a UHN food vendor. A set number of vouchers will be available for research staff on specific dates (refer to the schedule in the link). Vouchers are valid until March 15, 2022.

This meal voucher program has again been made possible thanks to the generous support of the UHN Foundation and Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Pickup locations and contact information here.

SGS Designing Graphics for Publication-Online Synchronous Workshop

The University of Toronto's School of Graduate Studies (SGS) is holding a workshop for graduate students on the key elements of designing effective figures for publications. Dr. Vaughn Mangal will lead you through strategies that you can use to help create high-quality figures, conceptual diagrams, and graphical abstracts for publication in the natural sciences using freely available software like Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and R statistical computing.

CTSI- Putting it into Words: Drafting Your Statement of Teaching Philosophy

This session focuses on one of the key components of a teaching dossier: the opening Statement of Teaching Philosophy (STP). Attendees will bring a draft of their STP to the workshop where they will learn how to identify key elements of an STP, examine their own perspectives on teaching, review steps for writing the STP, and edit their own teaching statement draft. The Kidney Foundation offers a limited number of fellowships that fund full-time academic study and preparation for research at the doctoral level. The objective of this program is to promote and enhance the development of allied health investigators in Canada in the field of nephrology and/or organ donation. Fellowships are awarded for amounts up to $31,000/year and can be held in Canada or abroad.
