Welcome the ORT’s new team member, Jordan Beck!
 
Jordan has recently joined UHN as the Research Training Coordinator and will work to support and develop programming offered by the ORT.
 
Jordan is from rural Manitoba and has recently completed his MSc in Microbiology from the University of Manitoba where he studied the interaction between Legionella pneumophila and its environmental hosts. Jordan holds a BSc in Biology and worked in the UofM’s Faculty of Science supporting a range of initiates promoting science prior to his graduate degree.
 
In his newly found spare time, Jordan is excited to explore new restaurants around Toronto.

Congratulations Dana Brinson on receiving an ORT Conference Award!

Dana is a PhD candidate in Dr. Thomas Waddell and Dr. Golnaz Karoubi's lab at Toronto General Hospital Research Institute. Dana studies the effects of biophysical cues on induced pluripotent stem cell-derived lung organoid differentiation.
 
Congratulations Dr. Karen Chung on receiving an ORT conference award!

Karen Chung is a plastic surgery resident and PhD graduate student with Dr. Beate Sander at Toronto General Hospital Research Institute. Her primary research interests are in health related quality of life methods, patient preferences, and their applications in economic analyses, specifically with how they relate to plastic surgery and global health. Her career goal is to be a surgeon scientist with expertise advocating for patients in low-resource settings through economic evaluations that inform changes in policy.
