These fellowships are awarded to graduate students, registered with UofT’s Faculty of Medicine, on the basis of financial need and academic excellence who are studying within the neurosciences field at UHN.

The Pride in Patient Engagement in Research (PiPER) initiative is hosting a Community of Practice to facilitate knowledge sharing in patient engagement in research. Cathy Craven and Anita Kaiser from the Kite Research Institute will be presenting on their experience of engaging people living with spinal cord injury in the development of the Bare Bones Podcast Series.

The Princess Margaret Seminar Series presents, Laura Soucek, PhD. Dr. Soucek is a Professor at the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VIHO) in Barcelona Spain and will be presenting a seminar titled "Development of a first clinically viable MYC inhibitor for cancer treatment".

2023-24 Scholarship for Graduate Dementia Research by Black Students
The Toronto Dementia Research Alliance (TDRA) scholarship is created to respond to the historical under-representation of Black students and faculty in research. The award is valued at $10k/year for 2 years (Masters) and $15k/year for 2 years (PhD).

Stem Cell Network ATAC-seq Workshop
ATAC-seq is an advanced bioinformatics technique that is used to determine chromatin accessibility and increase understanding of how chromatin packaging influences gene expression. The SCN ATAC-seq workshop is a practical introduction to bulk and single-cell ATAC-seq data analysis.

Congratulations Jessica Bytautas on receiving an ORT Conference Award!
Jessica Bytautas is a PhD candidate at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and is supervised by Dr. Pia Kontos at the KITE Research Institute. Jessica studies the role of volunteerism in community-based hospice palliative care.
Congratulations Michael He on receiving an ORT conference award!
Dr. Michael He is a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Robert Kridel's lab at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. He leads translational research projects investigating novel immunomodulating mechanisms to enhance epigenetic therapy in resistant lymphoma.
