Congratulations Jalal M. Kazan on receiving the Institute of Medical Science Open Fellowship Award!
Jalal is a postdoctoral researcher in Drs. Benjamin Lok's and Tracy McGaha's laboratories at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. He investigates the role of macrophages in small-cell lung cancer progression to enhance immunotherapy efficacy.

Every month UHN STEM Pathways recognizes the outreach work of our volunteers. For December we acknowledge the contributions of Elizabeth Chee-Hing. Elizabeth, a research trainee at KITE, has been an invaluable member of our team. She has helped facilitate many visits to UHN, hosting workshops related to her Institute’s ongoing research and giving tours of their lab spaces. She has also gone out into the community to offer fun STEM workshops to local youth – we are grateful for her many contributions.
