COMMUNITY
Every month UHN STEM Pathways recognizes the outreach work of our volunteers. For August we acknowledge the many contributions of Calaina Brooke, who is completing her PhD at the KITE Institute. Calaina has long been involved in youth outreach at UHN, acting as a KITE Ambassador for the last 2 years and even volunteering with the KITE Young Innovators before STEM Pathways was formalized. We are extremely grateful for her time on the team!

JUST FOR FUN
A comic illustration titled "Paramecium Parlor" featuring two DNA fragments participating in a race during gel electrophoresis. The DNA fragments are represented as cartoonish figures, with one in green, sweating with a worried expression, while the other, in yellow, is wearing goggles and looking determined. Both are moving through the gel, with shorter DNA fragments depicted closer to the positive end of the gel. The caption reads: "There was no doubt shorter DNA fragments had the advantage in the Great Gel Electrophoresis Race, but Larry still had a dream."
