Speaker Bio:
- Abigail Cleveland is an Assistant Editor for Blood Cancer Discovery at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). From the beginning of her scientific career, she has been committed to cancer research. She completed her PhD in Cell Biology and Physiology in the lab of Dr. Timothy Gershon at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied mechanisms regulating apoptosis in normal brain development and the pediatric brain tumor medulloblastoma. There, she was also a member of the Cancer Cell Biology Training Program. Abigail continued to conduct brain tumor research in the lab of Dr. Yi Fan at the University of Pennsylvania as a Postdoctoral Researcher, studying the role of the glioblastoma tumor vasculature in regulating tumor progression and immunity. She then transitioned from the bench to her current editorial position, where she is dedicated to working with authors to publish cutting-edge, impactful research to progress our understanding of blood cancers and improve clinical care through the advancement of therapeutic strategies.
