Join the Canada Leads Program on September 16, 2026 from 2pm to 3pm for an engaging webinar on Developing Digital Therapeutics and Medical Devices at UHN.

This webinar will be led by Noah Schwartz, Principal, Licensing and Commercialization, UHN Research Institutes, who will provide an introduction into the commercialization process for these technologies at UHN and highlight supports available within the UHN ecosystem. This session will feature a panel discussion by:

  • Dr. Joseph Cafazzo (Senior Scientist, Toronto General Hospital Research Institute; Senior Investigator, Centre for Digital Therapeutics, UHN; Co-Inventor, Medly)
  • Dr. Ralph DaCosta (Senior Scientist, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre; Founder, CSO, Director, MolecuLight)
  • Dr. Gregory Bootsma (Staff Scientist, Techna; Gamma Knife Icon)

Participants will gain a foundational understanding of:

  • Insights into the digital therapeutics, software, and medical devices pipelines.
  • Important early considerations, including ISO 13485 standards and designing around the needs and constraints of the user
  • Supports provided through Centre for Digital Therapeutics and/or Human Health Factors

This is the fifth session of a new Canada Leads engagement series on “Translating Research into Health Innovation and Economic Impact”. All are welcome to attend. Registration required. The session will be recorded and the recording sent to registrants.
