Life After the Postdoc? Networking Event for Postdoctoral Researchers

This first inter-institutional event will connect you with professionals who switched from academia to industry!

Are you wondering what life looks like after the postdoc? Join our round-table discussions with professionals with diverse and rewarding careers outside of academia. The event will be held on Thursday, January 29th, 2026, from 5PM to 7PM (+ optional networking hour) in the KITE Auditorium of the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (550 University Ave, Toronto, ON M5G 2A2).

The program features a short presentation, round-table discussions with invited professionals, and an informal networking session. Postdoctoral researcher across Toronto are invited to attend and will be matched with professionals most suited to their career interests. A $6 registration fee will include food and refreshments.

Registration is open to GTA postdocs, including but not limited to the Toronto Metropolitan University, Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, University Health Network, SickKids, and Unity Health.

Following registration, the organizing committee will be in contact with a form to indicate your preferences of professionals you would like to meet with.
