Teaching in Higher Education (THE500) Training Program
Dates: January to April 2026, Wednesdays, 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Format: In person on the University of Toronto's St. George Campus
UHN’s Office of Research of Trainees is excited to offer UHN senior PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers an exclusive opportunity to participate in the Winter 2026 cohort of University of Toronto’s THE500 Teaching in Higher Education course. This course provides an invaluable opportunity for UHN graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to build practical teaching skills.
THE500 provides an opportunity for participants to improve their teaching practice by becoming more knowledgeable about the ways in which students learn and about different teaching theories and styles. Course participants experience and take part in a variety of teaching situations, from small group work to more formal lecture sessions. Ample opportunity is given to participants to reflect on the course as it progresses and on their own teaching and learning experiences.
Limited spots are available and admission is competitive. Applications are due on Monday December 1 at 9:00 am EST. Successful applicants will be notified in early December.
