We have an exciting opportunity for a post-doctoral fellow to work on applying computer vision techniques in human body tracking and medical diagnosis. You will join a leading multi-disciplinary research team centred at the Kite Research Institute | Toronto Rehab, part of the University Health Network and affiliated with the University of Toronto. You will be working with (collecting, analysing) real data, from real patients, and solving real-life healthcare problems.

Specific responsibility include: observership in the clinic, designing and preparing research protocol and REB documents; developing and implementing data collection protocols; data collection and data cleaning; and the development, evaluation, and clinical validation of computer vision and machine learning capable of analysing human body movements and producing clinically valid diagnoses.

Qualifications:

  • PhD degree obtained within the last five (5) years or MD within the last ten (10) years in a related field
  • A solid research and publication record. Publications related to applications of hands on movement/pose tracking in health care are preferred
  • Excellent programming and systems integration capacities
  • Experience applying deep learning models
  • Transdisciplinary research experience (healthcare & AI) and/or publications is engineering/computer science and clinical values is an asset
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, along with a high degree of independence and flexibility to thrive in a novel and rapidly evolving research environment.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse team of clinicians and scientists, including post-docs, students, and technicians.
