We are seeking a Doctoral Graduate to lead a knowledge synthesis for publication in the area of health professions education to prevent limb loss from diabetes. The successful candidate will have experience leading knowledge syntheses with a critical framework and possess a health professions education-related PhD. Possible areas of expertise for this project include health professions education research, preventive and population health education research, social sciences fields with a research focus on health services delivery/health professions education, education research with a focus on health services delivery. An understanding of how the social determinants of health influence health and care delivery is essential. Results of this work will be used to inform the design of educational interventions for the next phase of the larger project.

Leading a knowledge synthesis to inform the current project and future work, including collection and analysis of data from a variety of sources (academic literature, grey literature), interpretation that considers the social determinants of health, and lead report/manuscript drafting and other forms of dissemination. Knowledge product/academic output: Knowledge synthesis paper with impact of applied interventions as a key outcome; literature search; analyzing and synthesizing data; collaborating with team via idea-sharing, critical constructive feedback on team plans and products; attending research team meetings, fellowship seminars, academic rounds and other education research community events; working on site 3 days/week; and supporting other initiatives as requested.

Qualifications
• PhD received within the past 5 years (or MD received within 10 years) in a related field
• Education in health professions education or related area (possible fields may be medical anthropology, health policy, health curriculum development, health professions education research, preventive and population health education research, social sciences fields with a research focus on health services delivery/health professions education, education research with a focus on health services delivery.
• Experience leading scoping or realist reviews required
• Knowledge and experience applying Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility principles to research
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in health education/health research required, including experience with qualitative data collection and analysis
• Previous experience using data management (e.g. Excel), reference management (e.g. Endnote, Refworks, Mendeley)
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
