Clinical Biomechanics, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute

Dr. Alison Novak & Dr. Geoff Fernie are seeking a PhD student to join their research team in September 2017. The student will be based at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, University Centre. S/he will conduct research investigating mechanisms underlying slip-related falls, the relationship between slip resistance and ongoing gait, and safe mobility in winter environments.

Description of Position/Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have a primary degree in kinesiology, engineering, or other health-related field. Previous experience with research involving human participants, motion capture systems, and matlab is an asset. The student’s stipend will be supported by existing grants. However, the student will also be expected to apply for competitive external scholarships (e.g. NSERC, CIHR).
