An opening is available for a post-doctoral fellow to work at Krembil Research Institute | Toronto Western Hospital | University Health Network.

We are seeking a candidate to investigate cell characterization and re-programming for therapy applications with focus on Osteoarthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis. Specifically, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be involved in evaluating the basic immunobiology of human monocytes/macrophages, neutrophils and mesechymal stromal cells (MSCs).

The successful individual will have experience transplanting/infusing cells into pre-clinical models of (osteoarthritis; experience with other animal models of acute and chronic inflammation is welcome), as well as evaluations by flow cytometry, qPCR, immunofluorescence, functional and signalling assays: should have strong research background in immunology and human primary cell culture experience; molecular biology skills are also desired. Animal experience is a must and surgical experience with mice and rats is a definite asset. The successful candidate will conduct extensive immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and flow cytometry characterization and must have strong technical capability in these.
