A new postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the Chan Laboratory at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher with an interest in metabolic dysregulation and development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting leukemic stem cells in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We are especially interested in potential therapeutic targets associated with metabolism and mitochondrial function. Research will involve the use of genetic screening tools to discover specific dependencies in leukemia and novel genome editing approaches (CRISPR/Cas9) to understand the role of specific genes in human AML development in vivo.
The laboratory will be located in Princess Margaret Centre in the Discovery District in downtown Toronto. Cancer research is the priority at the Ontario Cancer Institute, one of three research institutes comprising the University Health Network. Researchers here employ state-of-the-art tools in genomics, proteomics, structural biology, molecular biology, biophysics and the behavioral sciences.
Position is a one year contract that may be extended. The position is open now.
Qualifications:
- Experience with molecular biology and CRISPR/Cas9 technology is mandatory.
- Experience with cell culture, molecular biology, lentiviral transduction, RNAi technology, next-generation sequencing, flow cytometry, and mouse studies is an asset.
