The ORT would like to welcome Dr. Clare Wall, a recent PhD graduate from York University, as the new Operation Planning Coordinator.

About Dr. Clare Wall: I completed my PhD at York University examining climate change futures in contemporary science fiction. While completing my studies, I discovered the vibrant community of educators working in teaching and learning and began attending several of the courses and training programs offered through York’s Teaching Commons.

I am very excited to join the ORT and for the opportunity to connect with the trainees and learn about their interests and what kinds of programming they would like to see for the coming year. The trainees at UHN make up such a diverse community of researchers, and I hope to bring my skills in teaching and learning to the role to further improve trainee experiences and help them achieve their professional development goals.

Outside of UHN, I love engaging with the science fiction community, especially with the dialogues occurring across science and popular culture. I am also involved in the local tabletop role-playing gaming (TTRPG) community and love painting, hiking, crafting, and baking.
