Event poster for ORT and Coding Hive workshop on Machine Learning and AI in Genomics on May 27th from 4 to 7 pm. Zoom webinar including an introduction to Next Generation Sequencing Data, Artificial Intelligence in Genomics and Machine Learning Algorithms. Python hands-on coding session. No coding experience required. A photo of the instructor, Fouad Yousif Founder and Facilitator of Coding Hive, is included on the left.

Rapid advancements in DNA sequencing technologies over the past decade have introduced a vast amount of genomic data. Scientists around the world are analyzing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data to gain insights into the genetic architecture of complex diseases. As the cost of data generation is decreasing, personalized medicine is becoming more accessible and the demand for talent in data science is growing.

Join Fouad Yousif, Founder and Facilitator at the Coding Hive, on May 27th from 4- 7 pm for and exciting hands-on coding workshop! In this virtual workshop, you will have the chance to work with NGS data and learn about the computational and machine learning methods used in analyzing such data. By the end of the workshop, you will gain an understanding of how artificial intelligence is applied in disease diagnosis, drug discovery, and ultimately improving patients’ health.

In addition, we will highlight learning roadmaps along with specific recommended courses that can help you further grow your programming and analysis skills.

The workshop will cover:

  • Introduction to NGS Data
  • Applications of Artificial Intelligence In Genomics
  • Overview of Machine Learning Algorithms
  • Machine Learning Algorithm Deep Dive (Theory and Coding)
  • Python Hands-on coding session to develop a diagnostic classifier (no coding background required)
