Join the Canada Leads Program on July 7th from 1 to 2:00 pm for an engaging webinar on Developing Therapeutics and Genomics-Based Diagnostics. This session will feature presentations by:

  • Dr. Robin Quirk (Vice President, Technology Sourcing & Venture Development, CCRM)
  • Dr. Trevor Pugh (Senior Scientist, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre; Senior Investigator and Director, Genomics, OICR)

Participants will gain a foundational understanding of:

  • The early-stage drug development pipeline, including target validation, hit-to-lead optimization, and preclinical candidate selection, and early considerations for commercial success.
  • Drug discovery resources and supports provided by the Collaborative Centre for Drug Discovery and Therapeutics.
  • The early-stage cell-based therapy pipeline and early considerations for commercial success, including make or buy decisions, scale-up, and manufacturing considerations.
  • The pipeline for genomic-based diagnostics development, and early considerations for commercial success. Insights and lessons learned from work on lipid biopsies.

This is the fourth session of a new Canada Leads engagement series on “Translating Research into Health Innovation and Economic Impact”. All are welcome to attend. Registration is required here. The session will be recorded and the recording sent to registrants.
