Join the UHN Office of Research Trainees (ORT) and Dr. Sarah Treit (Founder, Figures First Consulting) on February 27, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM ET for a webinar to help researchers create and tailor impactful data visuals for presentations! You’ll learn how to transform complex data into clear, compelling visuals that support your narrative and resonate with diverse audiences. The session will focus on integrative data storytelling techniques, designing visually cohesive slides, and delivering a presentation that is both engaging and memorable.
Topics include:
- Tailoring graphs and other figures for oral presentations of various lengths and audiences
- General slide design tips for clarity and impact
- Effective use of animations to emphasize key points
- Developing a consistent and professional visual theme
- Practical tips for confident and effective presenting
The format will include a lecture-style presentation with real-world examples and best practices as well as an interactive group brainstorming session to discuss and improve slides submitted by participants. Speaker Bio:
- Sarah Treit holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Alberta. After working in an academic research setting for >10 years, she started her consulting company to help researchers communicate their science. Through this company she offers grant writing and editing, data visualization, workshops, and more!
