Introduction to Flow Cytometry
February 4, 2025 | 2:00 - 5:00 PM EST
Join the UHN Office of Research Trainees and the UHN Research & Innovation Cores for an in-person “Introduction to Flow Cytometry” workshop led by Princess Margaret scientific associate, Dr. Héléna Boutzen.
Flow cytometry is a powerful technique that allows high throughput acquisition of data while looking at multiple parameters at the same time. However, strict controls need to be applied to ensure the accuracy of the results.
This learn-by-doing workshop will provide an introduction to flow cytometry and guide attendees through the basics behind flow cytometry and data acquisition. Attendees will also have the opportunity to practice performing the flow cytometry analysis of a drug treatment study using a demo dataset! The demos will highlight the importance of each step in the process and how it can affect the results. Particular attention will be given to verifying that compensation is property adjusted.
This workshop is free but restricted to UHN trainees and postdoctoral researchers. The workshop will involve hands-on learning and all attendees are encouraged to bring their personal computers! Seating is limited, register now!
