Eduardo L. Franco is a Distinguished James McGill Professor and Director of the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and former Chairman (2011-2023) of the Department of Oncology at McGill. Since 1985, he has conducted epidemiologic research on the causes of cancer and on the means to prevent it or to improve patient survival, topics on which he has published hundreds of articles and two books. He is the Editor-in Chief of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of Preventive Medicine, and Senior Editor of eLife. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.
